I work with latex fabric, casting materials, flexible tubing, pipes and other ordinary building construction materials to create site-specific sculptural installations. The sculptures are poised to crawl out of or into building orifices, moving from a rigid state to flexible and back again, playing with the soft/hard dichotomy. I intentionally locate the sculptures in out-of-the-way places which challenge the viewer as to which elements were pre-existing in the space and which is the "art". My interventions use weight and gravity, but are often humorous as well as unnerving. They intrude into our public spaces, becoming potentially invasive.
