These cast sculptures explore the ideas of weight, pressure and balance. I fill plastic bags with liquid material (pigmented hydrocal or cast stone) which is heavyand strains the plastic. Bulges, indentations and stretch marks occur. Sometimes I combine the hardened forms into two-part compositions which derive their meaning from this process: being full or half-full, under pressure, in balance, off-balance or strained to the bursting point.
